It was a long run, and a very prominent one at least. This server single handily saved [OFPR] from extinction. I am very sad to see it go but you know me, I will think of something and will not do it alone this time unlike what I did with this venture. Just counting the months I paid for this thing (not including the other sevrers I started that didnt pan out when thinking of switching before actually switching to counter-strike.com), lets say 31 months I had this thing running off my bank roll. I have paid roughly 2220 all together for this server alone INCLUDING the donations and admin rentals, so thats not a real total, thats after a rounded generous deduction enduced figure. I have spent way more than that total, but just a number I threw out there to give you a general idea and how hard this is on me to see it die like this.

everyone please leave your condolences here. May this 24/7 server and piece of OFPR history rest in piece.

Wait a sec...are we talking this particular server, or the idea of an Office OFPR server in general?

Because if it's the latter, that would suck balls. I think there's definitely still enough interest in an office server to keep one running. If it's money, I'll be glad to donate, pick it up, whatever.

Don't get too sad. I have all the old backups of Office. I'll go ahead and host it in a few days off the OFPRClan.com server. Its on the same fiber connection as our Dust2 server. It may be a bumpy start, but we'll work it out.

I am keeping the hlstatsx sub alive, I did nto cancel it so there may be hope for a new improved office just yet. And no this has nothing to do with my its comming thread but it may have just killed what it was about.

that doesnt have anything to do with the paid hlstatsx, thats a completely dif set of stats. I pay for the /rank or /place command on office and dust2, the contest isnt associated with that database.

My Roommate just had an amazing idea. Why not combine Dust2 and Office into a Rotation Map. Although, I don't know if that much Awesome-ness could fit on one server rack. xD

sad to see her go. though i could not spend any time with her in the final months, the 1000+ hours of fun it has provided me over the past 2 years was incredible. she has been and will be missed by me as i have yet to find another office server that provided the same experience as OFPR's office server.

if anybody finds another good office server while trying to get their office fix, please let me know.

lol Thrax you canuck fuck, he means (at least I think he means this) make a rotation server with Dust2 and Office maps on it in place of Office. Maybe, but to answer your other question, Office used to be hosted on that same data server aka GAme Servers. It lagged like shit so I finally got tired of all the lag posts and bitching and moved it to the one it was on last..... which everyone loved for like 2 months then it went queer like the other. Clanservers aka Gamerservers aka where Dust2 is hosted is where Office started before Dust2 was even thought of by myself.

It will make a return, but it may take some time to find a decent and worthy yet affordable host. Office will return but when it returns is not yet a date set in stone, I am starting a search for a worthy server hsot as we speak. I t will be (as Xtreme also hinted at) a long and termultuous path but we will achieve a very popular server once again. I did it once I did it twice (Office and Dust2 = twice for you non counting fuck shits), I can do it again if I put my mind to it. ITS COMMING!!!

I got my start with OFPR because of the office server. I don't find the dust2 server all that fun because of the ridiculously slow pace that it takes on.

I guess I'll pick up one of the other games OFPR plays like COD or GW for the time being.

I've noticed their prices have dropped some, but from past experience seem to have quality servers. At least worth checking out if you haven't already.

you can get it without those options, they have packages, or you can create your own. like i said, just a suggestion. i was able to set up a 100 tic 32 man server without any extras for $104 a month. I dunno, perhaps i just know what i'm doing

Leetservers are ok, I have rarely heard anything bad about them, they are overpriced though. I have tried Clanservers/Gameservers, Funservers, GameDaemons, counter-strike.com as hosts. Gameservers/ClanServers has been the best out of the group. Gamedaemons was the worst one of the group and it was $125 a month for that one.

You are still paying $40 over the standard price. I don't remember who l337servers use for their datacenter anymore, but unless its LayeredTech or someone else who actually uses PREMIUIM bandwidth, then that is way overpriced.

Damn negros I remember when this server was IMPOSSIBLE to get into. Once one OFPR was in they would give kicks to get like 5 poeple in. That shit was always full. I remember it was ranked in the top 10 for css servers to.
