[OFPR] {WB} GG Testing Grounds

16 Player Server - 66 Tick

Current Configuration:

Turbo Mode

A new mod (edited) has been installed that gives a 0.3 speed boost each time you get a knife kill in a round. You also steal a level (except when other player is on level 1) from a knife kill.

Triple Level Bonus - Mod has been turned on. This over-rides any bonus you get from the knifing bonus and will reset your speed after 10 seconds. This will help limit the knife attempts and speed up the game.

Reverse - Chose this as it creates a more fair environment for new joiners. As well make pistol/nade/knife levels more challenging.

Warm-up time - 45 Seconds

Map Cycle - All current maps in the cycle can be downloaded through the server. They are small maps, don't whine about downloading them. Currently when a player reaches nade level a map vote will occur. 4 Maps will be chosen from the map cycle none of which were played in the last 3 maps.

The Ban List is a direct copy from the D2 server and will be updated as the Dust 2 / Office servers are.

Motd is basically the same as the other two OFPR servers. If you choose to be an idiot on the server, you choose to be banned.

- Admins: Watch your slay spam! Always change the map when Baller_Texture and MQ_deaglish pops up. Have a field day on campers in deagle_city.
- Should anyone still require admin, please shoot me a PM. I'm pretty sure I will not be giving any more admin out as the players above have made themselves regulars in the evenings.

you sure about that? cause I have played in a gun game where both were working, and it was a turbo server, and not a death match

I'll look into it. The gun Game config file states that the Turbo mode automatically over-rides the Triple kill bonus and the !give command only works in DM.

in order for the triple level and !give commands to work properly, I need to upgrade the GG server to GG V. 4.096RC1.

I will be making a backup of the current config and switching it over tonight for testing. I remember in the last GG server the DTP had there were some issues with the beta version of GG V. 4. We'll see what happens.

I updated the server to Gun Game 4. Rank stats stayed, win stats are gone. Whoever played under Kimberly was stats padding anyway with 12 wins against bots.

The move to version 4 fixed the !give command. There is a slight delay after using it the first time and players found to be abusing this by spamming their gun all over the map will be slayed multiple times.

Next project is the triple level nonsense, although it won't break my heart if I can't get it to work.

Baller_texture has been removed from the cycle. I will be removing a couple of others as well.

For those that are on it regularily like myself, are there any particular maps you'd like to see? Also any other suggestions. The music for the winner has been brought back as well.

What!!?! I was only in there when other people were, are you kidding me? Gungame is boring as fuck unless your in vent with screaming with someone. lol

Keep the bots in there like you had it. It makes it a lot easier to get going since people don't mind idling and dicking around w/ bots.

Three scripts are currently on the server being tested:

1) Knife kills give you speed boosts of 0.3 per kill. Good only for one round. I'm currently looking into how to edit this to allow you to keep the speed increase until you die.

2) Imposter - Knife kills cause the killer to take the uniform (skin) of the player killed.

3) Gun Game Shop - Headshots, Knife kills, and normal kills all give you points. These points can be spent by saying !ggshop. Items include:

- Lives (1, 2 or 3) - as soon as you die, you respawn.
- Mole - Spawn in opposite teams spawn disguised as other team. Will not work on nade or knife level
- Gravity change - Change you gravity to 75%, 50% or 25%
- Speed Boost - Change your speed by 2x or 3x
- Clip - Increase you clip size to 50, 100, or 150
- Body color - Glow.
- Level - Buy a level. Stuck on Mac10? this is your way out.

72 kills on a gg map is too high :\ It was so much fun causing people to get killed in spawn by attacking their teammates (thanks to mole)!

Most of the time was spent trying to figure out who was who. This may be something I set for random nights, but I can't see it being a consistent.

Dunno about everyone else, but I actually do think I prefer fast GG or whatever it's called where you get a new gun when you get a kill. I like being able to go through a few maps relatively quickly.

Although I respect that you dislike the server config I had on at the time (it was there for a couple of hours as some people found it fun), I'd lik to know more about why you consider reverse to suck and what concerns there are with Turbo.

Unfortunately, everyone seems to have a varying opinion on what is good and what isn't on a gun game server. The base config is:

Reverse - Reason chosen was because the server is not consistently full and when playing 1v1, 2v2 in order to populate the server, late joiners were getting stuck on pistols so reverse was chosen so as to make the game fair.

Turbo - Speeds up the game and this was the main reason behind it. Should you have the concern that sometimes the gun doesn't switch, that is why the !give command is there. I have no problem turning it to standard, but I want to see a reason other than it sucks.

Obviously GGshop isn't like and will be removed except by request.

I have just recently started playing GG which is a blast but im not diggin the turbo shit or what ever it is! bassically i dont like the !ggshop. no good but thats just my opinion! other then that its a great server! ill play either way but im just not likin the ggshop!

GGshop is great when we're together having fun on a small map. I think it works well when we have a bunch of people we know in vent. I don't think it's intended to be a standard mod on the server.

mmm....true but it was like 80 OFPR when we were on and i just got frustrated! even though its just a game but its still kinda weird. plus i couldnt figure out how to even do it! myself and coastie ened up leavin! either way i dont really mind it but i would rather not play when the mod is on! unless it was the weekend and i was drinkin or somthin!

Exactly. It shouldn't stay on permanently, but I think it'd be great to turn it on when we all just wanna fuck around on the server and have fun.

Given that people actually play on the server, I've decided to rent it for a 3 month period. The configuration currently on it will be the permenant (sp?) cfg unless something drastic happens.

Currently it is set to Reverse / Turbo with the Knife-Speed-Syphon mod.

I have removed several larger maps from the base cycle such as mq_deaglish, bloodarena3, and blue_tango and have added 5 new maps to the cycle. One in particular is a rather large file due to some textures, but it is a nice change from the bright maps currently on the server.

New Maps:

gg_aim_ADSL
gg_desertstorm_v2
gg_supadeth_b3
gg_office_mini (We needed an office map)
aim_gg_synchronicity

I've attached the zip file with the maps included for those who are impatient.

The current admin roster is significant, so there should be no problem whatsoever getting a map changed or getting help with something. If I left someone out, shoot me a PM.

As stated in another topic, the GG server may be switched to an aim_map / weapon server for practice at any time.

My only problem with our GG server was when we got stuck on larger maps, but if you removed them, and im all good

it sucks when we try to RTV and nominate a map but it never works! it just randomly picks the map on its own and doesnt change
until someone wins
