Setting out to do for co-op gaming what Counter-Strike did for team combat, Left 4 Dead is an ambitious survival horror game. Running on the Source engine, Left 4 Dead leaves four armed survivors of a world overrun with zombies, and they must fight their way out to escape the outbreak.

Designed for co-op play, the four players must work together to finish each stage of the game, lending each other artillery support, sharing ammo and rescuing each other when zombies are on top of them. In addition to the standard four players as humans, another four players can be amongst the masses of assaulting zombies, seeking to take down the other players. Zombie players might even find themselves become one of the four mutant "boss" zombies, who have unique powers that can be used to devastate, injure, tie up, mark and track, confuse, or even humiliate the gun-toting human survivors.

ITs 4 people storyline or 4v4 online.

Looks like a sourcemod with some new animations and textures. Doesn't look that great IMO.

Honestly, I just want them to release it so they keep making TF2 updates.

Ok... I made my own thread on accident without seeing this one so i'll just copy what it said at the bottom.

After playing this demo twice, I will be getting this game FOR SURE. Even though my internet sucks, i'm still going to get it. If the co-op is good this game will get a 9.5 on most gaming sites FOR SURE.

"This is a zombie game by Valve... It reminds me so much of CSS/etc. except with rampaging zombies and intense gameplay. I think I shit my pants atleast 3 times during the demo.
You can do offline single player with 3 AI characters, or you can play online with 3 real players and do each mission co-op. You can also play 4 vs. 4, where 4 people are survivors trying to escape from the map, and the other 4 are zombie bosses trying to stop them from escaping. The controls are almost IDENTICAL to that of CSS and other steam FPS', and it felt amazing to play it.
Based on the demo, this game EASILY gets a 9.5 or higher. I've played Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3, and none of them were as exciting as this game (Far Cry 2 was very close, but zombies are just way more intriguing to me).
If you liked Dead Rising for the 360, this zombie game is 10 times better.
If you pre-order the game through Steam you can get the demo, but if you just search Left 4 Dead demo on thepiratebay you can find it. Also, download the Left 4 Dead english voice fix too. Pretty easy to install, and not TOO big.
I don't think anyone will be disappointed. It's a badass demo. Now.. include real people as your teammates and 4v4 play... It's amazing. "

yeah, the AI for the zombies is incredible, they remind me with their actions and motions almost perfectly to the newest Dawn of the Dead zombies. and there are about the same amount of them...

Definitely going to be one of the best pc games of the year. Very intense gameplay, very fast paced. And is amazingly fun to play co-op with, even though those random people you get sometimes, suck so bad, and end up shooting you more than the zombies....but o-well. Nothing a nice pipe-bomb or molotov-cocktail cant handle anyway

ive got it, and love it, definitely a fun action packed game. very intense. 4v4 is great as long as your allys arn't completely incompetent

i had a hard time finishing No Mercy on the final part because i played with computer players who don't pick up any pipe bombs or cocktails. Which is total bull.

I did play 4v4 real quick today and it was alright, i was a little confused on how to use the zombie bosses. But that is only because i've only tried it once.

Was a little disappointed in the weapon selection so far. I assume NEW weapons will be later in the game.

P.s. I just found out you can zoom in on the sniper rife...fuck me.

i love how you can choose where you spawn
and then sneak up on someone and grab em with your tongue. or climb walls and pounce on someone whos by themselves as a hunter.

i always use the hunting rifle to kill the witch, but i have no idea how you can get a one kill hs on the witch for the achievement since i always shoot her in the head and it takes like 12 bullets to kill.

Played Vs. for like 2 hours today..had a blast.

Few things that I'm disappointed about:

Campaigns have no flow.....I would have liked more of a story to go along with the game say like between each new campaign to tell why they are there from the end of the last campaign to the start of the new one.

I assume since there is no real ending, they plan on giving new campaigns at a later time.

and like my other posts...new weapons it said on the demo.....0 new weapons in the game.

Still Vs. is great..

if you want to complete the "what are you trying to prove" achievement easy without effort just to get it out of the way....some may do it..others might do it the right way. But i saw no way of doing it since i don't play single player much. SOOOOOOOOOOOO

turns on god mode in single player...

I also use noclip
lets you fly through walls

what i did was kill everyone at start so they aren't in the way
turn on god mode
then noclip
fly to safe room
turn off noclip
shut door

boom next level

do that all the way to the last map

Now, how do you get it to count if you are cheating?

Simple right before you get on any vehicle, on the final map...just turn off cheats

sv_cheats 0
god 0
noclip

jump in ship

it counts..

The new DLC is out for PC and 360 today,survivor mode,2 other maps that wasn't in the first patch(death toll,and dead air),so enjoy I know I will...
Man is survivor mode hard,3 smokers at once,2 tanks at 4 mins,and the hunters are everywhere,this game has gotten great...

I just got home. I went to a friends house after work for a bit and checked out last stand on the xbox version in survivor mode and it kicked ass. Why don't more you OFPR's play? me and funky usually get a game in together at least every 3 days or so

Yeah you gotta have people who aren't dicks and don't mess everything up. I got 9 minutes with me and one other guy and 2 computers. That was my best. We should get 4 of us together and see how well we can do on survivor.
