My dad and I took the GPU apart today, cleaned off the old thermal paste and then lubricated the one fan. We weren't able to take the fan apart. When we peeled of one of the stickers on the fan you could see the board underneath and there might have been a leak of something. There seemed to be some sort of brown stuff on a small part of it.

Sounds like a bad bearing. It happens. If that is the case, the fan needs to be replaced. They are easy. As for the fan, you can replace it with whatever the matching size is. Usually they are measured in millimeters. You'll need some thermal paste too.
Lastly, there are aftermarket fans for GPU's and cost about $10. Good thermal paste will cost about $5 - $10 and can last a long time.
So just unscrew the four screws on the board and the top should come off?
Edit: Also, when I was looking at my fans I noticed that five wires ran to the two of them. Two red, two black, one yellow. The fan that isn't spinning has one red and one black, and the one that is working has one red, one black, and the only yellow. Why is that?

Does your ISP provide you with a service like this?:
I'm no computer wiz, but you might be able to throttle a specific IP use a page like that.

That I don't know. I just think you need to take the fan itself apart if you can, but honestly, that is all I'd feel safe telling you to do.
Okay. Thanks for the advice. I'll talk to my dad and look into it. I don't mind buying a new fan but I'd rather fix it obviously.

You described it as being stiff though which makes me think there is a hair or thread wrapped around the axle which is why it doesn't spin well. It should spin just as easily as the other one, whether it is plugged in or not.
So should I peel the sticker off the bottom and unscrew the fan and se if anything is in there? That's where the screw would be right?

Have you tried cleaning out that specific fan? In particular, I'd be worried about hair, or pubes in your case, which might have found their way in there and got it stuck. If you are looking at replacing the fan, you might as well first see if you can just get it unstuck first.
It still turns, but not when the power is on. I can turn it by hand. I also cleaned both fans again today so I think I'm good on that front.

So I'm almost 100% sure it's because of overheating with the GPU because today I found that one of the two fans isn't running. When I took the card out and spun the two fans with my fingers the one fan that wasn't spinning was very stiff. How hard will it be to replace the fan? How big would the fans be (I can't find the info online.)?
Also, before you say it, yes I am dumb for not checking this before. lol

I'm pretty open with what I listen to, but a lot of people find it really weird when I listen to Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc. as well as softer jazz (good for relaxing, can't beat it except with Moleman).
I had a friend say he thought it was weird that I listen to Balkan music. lol

What's a song, artist, or genre that's your guilty pleasure?
Mine is Hip Hop/Gangsta Rap. I love me some Missy Elliott, RUN-DMC, Dr. Dre, and Ice-T.

I can't believe I missed this.
Is there a cached version somewhere I can find it?
